Deuteronomy 18 nâbâ' (Prophet)

So a lot of people still question the Deuteronomy 18 nâbâ' (Prophet).

A New Prophet or Servant like Mashah (Moses)

Deuteronomy 18:18 I shall raise up for them a Prophet like you out of the midst of their brothers. And I shall put My Words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them all that I command Him.

Lets read this a few verses back

Deu 18:9 “When you come into the land which 'ÂDôN 'ÂL SHÂDDÂY is giving you, do not learn to do according to the abominations of those nations. 10 “Let no one be found among you who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practises divination, or a user of magic, or one who interprets omens or a sorcerer, 11 or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. 12 “For whoever does these is an abomination to 'ÂDôN, and because of these abominations 'ÂDôN 'ÂL SHÂDDÂY drives them out from before you. 13 “Be perfect before 'ÂDôN 'ÂL SHÂDDÂY , 14 for these nations whom you are possessing do listen to those using magic and to diviners. But as for you, 'ÂDôN 'ÂL SHÂDDÂY has not appointed such for you.

Some say it is Joshua Son of Nun

Let's read this first-

Exo 4:14 And the displeasure of 'ÂDôN burned against Mashah, and He said, “Is not Aharon the Lěwite your brother? I know that he speaks well. And see, he is also coming out to meet you. And when he sees you, he shall be glad in his heart. 15 “And you shall speak to him and put the words in his mouth. And I am with your mouth and with his mouth, and I shall teach you what to do.

Num 12:5 And 'ÂDôN came down in the column of cloud and stood in the door of the Tent, and called Aharon and Miryam. And they both went forward. 6 And He said, “Hear now My words: If your prophet is of 'ÂDôN, I make Myself known to him in a vision, and I speak to him in a dream. 7 “Not so with My servant Mashah, he is trustworthy in all My house. 8 “I speak with him mouth to mouth, and plainly, and not in riddles. And he sees the form of 'ÂDôN. So why were you not afraid to speak against My servant Mashah?”

So let's look into this-

Yahoshua (Hashea) Son of Nun – Mashah’s assistant. We read in Numbers 27:18 this;

Num 27:16“Let 'ÂDôN, the Alahym of the spirits of all flesh, appoint a man over the congregation, 17 who goes out before them and comes in before them, who leads them out and brings them in, so that the congregation of 'ÂDôN be not like sheep without a shepherd.” 18 And 'ÂDôN said to Mashah, “Take Yahoshua son of Nun with you, a man in whom is the Spirit. And you shall lay your hand on him, 19 and shall set him before Al‛azar the priest and before all the congregation, and give him command before their eyes, 20 and shall put some of your esteem upon him, so that all the congregation of the children of Yisra’ěl obey him. 21 “And he is to stand before Al‛azar the priest, who shall inquire before 'ÂDôN for him by the right-ruling of the Urim. At his word they go out, and at his word they come in, both he and all the children of Yisra’ěl with him, all the congregation.” 22 And Mosheh did as 'ÂDôN commanded him, and took Yahoshua and set him before Al‛azar the priest and before all the congregation, 23 and laid his hands on him and commissioned him, as 'ÂDôN commanded by the hand of Mashah.

So we see Joshua was already commissioned and an assistant to Moses and also a shepherd leading the sheep. This happened before Deu 18.

So let's look at the other prophets-

Samuel- was attending before our Creator as a youth and was growing in stature and favor with ALMIGHTY

AlaYah(Elijah)- We find no book for him, we have only what is written in 1 kings / 2 Kings The word of 'ÂDôN came to him.

Alisha(Elisha)- Spirit of Alayah rested on him.

Isaiah- The “Visions”

Rûmyâh (Jeremiah)- This is the only prophet we read about that says this from 'ÂDôN. Rûmyâh (Jeremiah) name means "Raise"

Jer 1:5 “Before I formed you in the belly I knew you, and before you came out of the womb I did set you apart – I appointed you a prophet to nations.”

Jer 1:9 Then 'ÂDôN put forth His hand and touched my mouth, and 'ÂDôN said to me, “See, I have put My words in your mouth. 10 “See, I have this day set you over the nations and over the reigns, to root out and to pull down, to destroy and to overthrow, to build and to plant.”

Ezekiel- Was a priest and a Prophet- The “Visions”

Daniel- Had Visions and Dreams

Hosea- The Word or Matter came to…..

Joel- The Word or Matter came to…..

Amos- The Word or Matter came to…..

Obadiah- The “Visions”

Jonah- The Word or Matter came to…..

Micah- The Word or Matter came to…..

Nahum- The “Visions”

Habakkuk- The Message or “Burden” that the prophet saw.

Zephaniah- The Word or Matter came to…..

Haggai- The Word or Matter came to…..

Zechariah- The Word or Matter came to…..

Malachi- Message (Burden) of the word (Matter)

Job- My servant- was not a prophet.

Ezra – was a priest and skilled in the Torah.

Nehemiah- This book is the words of Nehemiah.

Jer 23:16 Thus said 'ÂDôN of hosts, “Do not listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you, they lead you astray. They speak a vision of their own heart, not from the mouth of 'ÂDôN.

Jer 29:10 “For thus said 'ÂDôN, ‘When seventy years are completed, at Baḇel I shall visit you and establish My good word toward you, to bring you back to this place.

2Ch 36: 20 And those who escaped from the sword he exiled to Baḇel, where they became servants to him and his sons until the reign of the reign of Persia, 21 in order to fill the word of 'ÂDôN by the mouth of Rûmyâh (Jeremiah), until the land had enjoyed her Sabbaths. As long as she lay waste she kept Sabbath, until seventy years were completed. 22 And in the first year of Koresh sovereign of Persia, in order to accomplish the word of 'ÂDôN by the mouth of Rûmyâh (Jeremiah), 'ÂDôN stirred up the spirit of Koresh sovereign of Persia, so that he called out in all his reign, and also put it in writing, saying, 23 “Thus said Koresh sovereign of Persia, ‘'ÂDôN Alahym of the heavens has given me all the reigns of the earth. And He has commanded me to build Him a house in Yerushalayim, which is in Yahuḏah. Whoever is among you of all His people, 'ÂDôN his Alahym be with him, and let him go up!’

So we see that Mashah is the greatest prophet, but one like him (shall) or (Will) raise up to the nations. The only one that matches this is Rûmyâh (Jeremiah).

Was Rûmyâh (Jeremiah) not warning these nations, sovereigns, priests and prophets about going against the Torah and trying to warn them to TURN BACK and OBEY ALMIGHTY'S VOICE? YES! Trying to bring them back into obedience!

Listen to Him, 16 according to all you asked of 'ÂDôN your Alahym in Ḥorěḇ in the day of the assembly, saying, ‘Let me not hear again the voice of 'ÂDôN your Alahym, nor let me see this great fire any more, lest I die.’ 17 “And 'ÂDôN said to me, ‘What they have spoken is good.

18 I shall raise up for them a Prophet like you out of the midst of their brothers. And I shall put My Words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them all that I command Him. 19 And it shall be, the man who does not listen to My Words which He speaks in My Name, I require it of him. 20 But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in My Name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other mighty ones, even that prophet shall die.’ 21 “And when you say in your heart, ‘How do we know the word which 'ÂDôN has not spoken?’ – 22 when the prophet speaks in the Name of 'ÂDôN and the word is not, or comes not, that is the word which 'ÂDôN has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him.

Jer 14:14 Then 'ÂDôN said to me, “The prophets prophesy falsehood in My Name. I have not sent them, nor commanded them, nor spoken to them. They are prophesying to you a false vision, worthless divination, and the deceit of their own heart. 15 “Therefore thus said 'ÂDôN concerning the prophets who prophesy in My Name, whom I did not send, and who say, ‘Sword and scarcity of food shall not be in this land.’ ‘By sword and scarcity of food those prophets shall be consumed!

Jer 23:15 “Therefore thus said 'ÂDôN of hosts concerning the prophets, ‘See, I am making them eat wormwood, and shall make them drink poisoned water. For defilement has gone out into all the land from the prophets of Yerushalayim.’ ” 16 Thus said 'ÂDôN of hosts, “Do not listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you, they lead you astray. They speak a vision of their own heart, not from the mouth of 'ÂDôN. 17 “They keep on saying to those who despise Me, ‘'ÂDôN has said you shall have peace.’ And to all who walk according to the stubbornness of their own heart they say, ‘No evil comes upon you.’ ” 18 For who has stood in the counsel of 'ÂDôN, and has seen and heard His word? Who has listened to His word and obeyed it? 19 See, a storm of 'ÂDôN shall go forth in a rage, a whirling storm! It whirls on the head of the wrong. 20 The displeasure of 'ÂDôN shall not turn back until He has done and established the purposes of His heart. In the latter days you shall understand it perfectly. 21 “I did not send these prophets, yet they ran. I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied. 22 “But if they had stood in My counsel, then they would have let My people hear My Words, and they would have turned them from their evil way and from the evil of their deeds. 23 “Am I an Elohim close by,” declares 'ÂDôN, “and not an Elohim afar off? 24 “If anyone is hidden in secret places, would I not see him?” declares 'ÂDôN. “Do I not fill the heavens and earth?” declares 'ÂDôN. 25 “I have heard what the prophets have said who prophesy falsehood in My Name, saying, ‘I have dreamed, I have dreamed!’ 26 “Till when shall it be in the heart of the prophets? – the prophets of falsehood and prophets of the deceit of their own heart, 27 who try to make My people forget My Name by their dreams which everyone relates to his neighbour, as their fathers forgot My Name for Ba‛al.(MAN) 28 “The prophet who has a dream, let him relate the dream, and he who has My Word, let him speak My Word in truth. What is the chaff to the wheat?” declares 'ÂDôN. 29 “Is not My Word like a fire?” declares 'ÂDôN, “and like a hammer that shatters a rock? 30 “Therefore see, I am against the prophets,” declares 'ÂDôN, “who steal My Words every one from his neighbour. 31 “See, I am against the prophets,” declares 'ÂDôN, “who use their tongues and say, ‘He declares.’ 32 “See, I am against those who prophesy false dreams,” declares 'ÂDôN, “and relate them, and lead My people astray by their falsehoods and by their reckless boasting. But I Myself did not send them nor have I commanded them. And they do not profit this people at all,” declares 'ÂDôN. 33 “And when these people or the prophet or the priest ask you, saying, ‘What is the message of 'ÂDôN?’ then you shall say to them, ‘What message?’ I shall forsake you,” declares 'ÂDôN. 34 “As for the prophet and the priest and the people who say, ‘The message of 'ÂDôN,’ I shall punish that man and his house.
35 “This is what each one says to his neighbour, and each one to his brother, ‘What has 'ÂDôN answered?’ and, ‘What has 'ÂDôN spoken?’ 36 “But the message of 'ÂDôN you no longer remember! For every man’s message is his own word, for you have changed the Words of the living Alahym, 'ÂDôN of hosts, our Alahym! 37 “This is what you say to the prophet, ‘What has 'ÂDôN answered you?’ and, ‘What has 'ÂDôN spoken?’ 38 “But since you say, ‘The message of 'ÂDôN!’ therefore thus said 'ÂDôN, ‘Because you say this word, “The message of 'ÂDôN!” and I have sent to you, saying, “Do not say, ‘The message of 'ÂDôN!’ ” 39 therefore see, I, I shall utterly forget you and cast you away from My presence, along with the city that I gave you and your fathers. 40 And I shall put an everlasting reproach on you, and an everlasting shame that is not forgotten.’ ”

Jer 28:15 And the prophet Rûmyâh (Jeremiah) said to Ḥananyah the prophet, “Listen, please, Ḥananyah, 'ÂDôN has not sent you, but you have made this people trust in falsehood.

Jer 29:8 “For thus said 'ÂDôN of hosts, Alahym of Yisra’ěl, ‘Let not your prophets and your diviners who are in your midst deceive you, neither listen to the dreams which you are dreaming.
Jer 29:9 For they are prophesying falsely to you in My Name. I have not sent them,’ declares 'ÂDôN.

Let's look at the ancient text here. What is the meaning for Rûmyâh's (Jeremiah) name? (V) RWM - Lift: To lift something up.
(Nm) RWM - High: Something that is lifted up or Raise.

What was Mashah (Moses) doing for our Creator in the wilderness? He was putting the people in obedience for our Creator. Was not Rûmyâh (Jeremiah) doing the same? Yes! If you read Deu 18:9, Moses was speaking about being in the land and not doing what the other nations do. When you read Dabar (Deuteronomy) 4:26-31, were we not scattered back into the world? Yes!

Deu 4:26 “I shall call the heavens and earth to witness against you on that day, that you soon completely perish from the land which you pass over the Yarděn to possess – you do not prolong your days in it but are completely destroyed. 27 “And 'ÂDôN shall scatter you among the peoples, and you shall be left few in number among the nations where HÂYÂH drives you. 28 “And there you shall serve mighty ones, the work of men’s hands, wood and stone, which neither see nor hear nor eat nor smell. 29 “But from there you shall seek 'ÂDôN your Alahym , and shall find, when you search for Him with all your heart and with all your being. Deu 4:30 “In your distress, when all these words shall come upon you in the latter days, then you shall return to 'ÂDôN your Alahym and shall obey His voice. 31 “For 'ÂDôN your Alahym is a compassionate 'ÂL, He does not forsake you, nor destroy you, nor forget the covenant of your fathers which He swore to them.

Jer 29:13 And you shall seek Me, and shall find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

Rûmyâh (Jeremiah) was trying to bring Yaśâr'âl back to obedience. He was warning all of the Priest, Prophets, Sovereigns, Judges and Elders of Yaśâr'âl to turn back and OBEY HIS VOICE. The witness! What was spoken and written in stone. Rûmyâh (Jeremiah) was trying to put the people back in order "Dabar" and stop leading people astray!

Read this verse again

Deuteronomy 18:18 I shall raise up for them a Prophet like you out of the midst of their brothers. And I shall put My Words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them all that I command Him.
